Welcome to a place where we at SACS invite you to learn more about your children and the importance of Digital literacy in the 21st Century. Many parents are working hard at keeping up with not only the internet tools they need, but also what their children are using. Digital Citizenship is best defined as, Digital citizenship is usually defined as the "norms of behavior with regard to technology use." It encompasses digital literacy, ethics, etiquette, online safety, norms, rights, culture and more. AT SACS we wish to partner with our parents in providing those important opportunities for teaching today's youth the importance of appropriate use of technology whether it be on a computer, tablet, or cell phone. Common Sense Media.... Discovering Set Of Tools And Resources For Parents
One well known site for promoting proper digital citizenship is Common Sense Media, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the ethical and proper use of technology by kids.. Common Sense Media believes in strong partnerships between home and school. It is for this reason that Common Sense has designed a FREE program to help parents and caregivers navigate and discuss the impact of digital media on kids' social, emotional, and intellectual development. Using resources based on their
K-12 Digital Literacy and Citizenship Curriculum, educators and parents, together, can empower young people to harness the power of the Internet and digital technology for learning and life -- both in the classroom and at home.
